Can I wear my rosary beads?

Strictly speaking rosary beads are prayer beads, and are intended to be held in the hands, as a help in following the rosary prayers. Many people now wear rosary beads, and you may do so at your own risk. The double wired rosaries are the strongest both for general use, and for wear.

To be able to wear a rosary, either the decade length of the beads needs to be able to fit over your head, or the beads require some form of necklet fastening. Throughout the website, we have indicated the decade and drop length of rosaries, and thus where a rosary is capable of being worn. Where a rosary is described as a necklet or bracelet, then it has been designed for wearing. As with all jewellery an appropriate degree of care should be used.

The Rosaria is not responsible for any breakage that may occur as a result of wearing the rosary. The beads will be neither refunded or replaced.

How should I clean my silver rosary beads?

To clean plain silver beads, we would recommend using (eg.) Pristine or Goddards Silver Dip in accordance with the product instructions. After cleaning, the beads should be washed in warm water. Having dried them thoroughly the cleaning should be finished off with a Silver Polishing Cloth. In the case of Pearl or Gemstone rosaries, a more gentle Delicate Jewellery cleaner should be used.
